Summer 2020

Updated: Dec 31, 2022

We’re Praying for You! Hindsight is 20/20 they say. Who imagined what 2020 would bring with it as the year began? It has been a taxing and revealing year in so many ways. We know it has been stressful for many and continues to be a test for all of us. Although we believe that one day we will all hear of the many testimonies that will come from this year, we also realize that it is a difficult time. We are right there with you. Know that we are praying for you.

In 1 Kings 19, Elijah was alone and overwhelmed in the wilderness. He felt he had had enough. He sat under a tree, praying he would die. There are those who might feel this way right now. You may be one of them. This year has brought with it many new situations, prolonged trials, hardships, confusion, fear, and (I feel the worst part is) a hatred that has become incredibly prevalent in our society. But we must remember that, even in this season, God is with us. As Elijah slept,

5 ...an angel touched him and told him, “Get up and eat!”

6 He looked around and there beside his head was some bread baked on hot stones and a jar of water! So he ate and drank and lay down again.

7 Then the angel of the Lord came again and touched him and said, “Get up and eat some more or the journey ahead will be too much for you.”

8 So he got up and ate and drank, and the food gave him enough strength to travel forty days and forty nights to Mount Sinai, the mountain of God.”

Eat, Drink, Rest, Return

We are thankful for every one of you who has come alongside us. We are not able to do what we are called to without the team the Lord has called to partner with us. We don’t take that for granted. We are thankful for those of you who continue to financially partner with us during these unprecedented times and for those who cannot, we understand and still value you as a partner.

As we indicated in our last update, much of what had been planned for us stateside in 2020 was canceled or postponed. Although our itineration plans may look a little different, we have found other opportunities to be a benefit to the body. Megan has recently begun working with the Protect Me Project. They exist to prevent the commercial sexual exploitation of victims in countries of origin, specifically in Latin America. She will be helping them develop resources and be a liaison in communicating with missionaries in the LAC (Latin America and Caribbean) region.

Tech has joined in working with our sending organization towards the mobilization of minority missionaries. We desire to see the mission field represented by all ethnicities to mirror the body of Christ. We know that God’s calling for missionaries is not limited to an ethnic group so we desire to remove any obstacles that prevent people from answering the call.

Our lives and work look different this year than what we had planned. But we know that God is with us. We have felt the stress that many of you have felt. We have also grown tired of the constant barrage of “challenges” each new month has brought with it. But we know that God is with us. He saw 2020 before Jesus ever walked this earth. He knew the struggles we would face, the situations we would face, and how we would feel each day. He knows that some may be ready so sit under the tree and give up, but He sends his angel to say, Eat Drink Rest Return.

Friends, you are loved. You are appreciated and you are needed. In this time of chaos, many are growing weary and fearful. Some of those whom you previously relied on have faded away. Thank you for staying the course. Thank you for remaining faithful in uncertain times.

Pastors, thank you for faithfully preaching the Word. Thank you for caring for your congregants and investing in their lives. Thank you for your sacrifice and love. Please know that we are fighting alongside you. And in this fight that is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenlies, we are praying for you. May you be filled with the Spirit in your fight against the schemes of the enemy.

If we can be of help to you in any way, don’t hesitate to let us know! We bless you and speak life over you in this season!
