It’s Official!
(We) heard the voice of the Lord, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” and we responded, "Here we are, Lord, send us!”
Happy Spring to all our wonderful ministry partners!
As this new season begins, we are excited to share with you some wonderful news. On Friday March 11th received our appointment by the Assemblies of God World Missions organization as career missionaries! For those of you that may be a little unfamiliar with AGWM and the missions process, this means that while we will still be working with a team on the ground in Ecuador, we will have a little more autonomy to do the specific things that the Lord has put in our hearts to do and we will get to stay for an extra year. Many of you may know that this is a real answer to prayer. God’s timing is perfect and we couldn’t be more excited!
As we have been moving through the application and acceptance process, God has been stirring our hearts and birthing a new vision inside us. Although we were previously going to be primarily focusing on training up leaders within the national church (and we will still be doing this), the Lord has been adding a new burden in us that some of you may not be aware of quite yet. The Afro-Ecuadorian population is an unreached people group in Ecuador and, as it happens, there is a large community rooted in the basin where we will be living in Imbabura. It is about 30 minutes north of the city of Ibarra. As Tech and I have allowed the Lord to stir our hearts, we have become increasingly excited to work with this specific group of unreached people. We believe that God has created us uniquely as a family to help open doors to us there. As I was recently praying for them the Lord showed me a vision of them crying out in pain as a forgotten and disenfranchised people group, just as the Israelites cried out so many years ago in Egypt. And I heard the Lord say, “as much as they have cried out at being a forgotten people, I have remembered them and am sending you to them so that they may know I have heard them”. What a Word from the Lord! We are so excited to share God’s love with those that He has loved for so long. What a privilege and an honor.
As this spring and summer are upon us, we will continue to itinerate to raise the new budget that has been set for us and will be attending School of Missions here in Springfield in the summertime. If the Lord allows us to raise the rest of our budget speedily, we are believing that September will be a departure month for us! Only the Lord knows, but we are working as hard as we can.
Please know that we are so thankful for each of you. We feel so honored and blessed to have such a wonderful team to partner with us as we all work to see God’s kingdom established and prospering throughout the world. Thank you for your support, love and kindness. You are a blessing to us! We continue to pray for you; that God would reveal Himself in new ways to you and that you would be part of a great awakening of believers around the world, lifting up their eyes to the King of Kings!
Serenity’s Space
Serenity has been a true champion this year as we have begun to travel more and visit new churches. The Lord has given her grace in her academic studies and she is doing very well, despite our hectic traveling schedule. We have begun to talk with her about upcoming transitions and, while she is excited for the new adventure, she is also realizing that she will have to say goodbye to friends and family here in the U.S. Please continue to pray for her as she processes this new chapter in her life and for us as well; that God would give us wisdom in helping her as much as we can.
