Happy New Year!

We are so excited to be starting the new year here in Ecuador. Last year was full of both challenges and miracles but we can’t wait to see what God has in store for 2025!

Tech was so blessed to attend the south central SALT (Chi Alpha’s Student Awakening Leadership Training) in Dallas over New Year’s. The Salt conference is a conference for college age students and he was there to represent LAC/ AG world missions. He had so many wonderful and encouraging conversations with the students who attended. God is doing great things among the college age generation and we are excited about it!

The beginning of January also brought the Acts 6:4 conference in Texarkana, which he was excited to attend for the second time. They have an annual conference devoted to prayer and preaching. He was able to see some familiar faces and meet some new ones. Unfortunately a winter storm cut it a day short but the conference was still a blessing. The conference was a blessing in another way as it had altered our travel days and allowed us to avoid the storm and the cancelled flights that followed. God is good!

Serenity was very happy to spend some time with her several grandparents this year and enjoyed seeing her cousin while we were in Dallas. While Tech and I didn’t exactly enjoy the winter weather, she was overjoyed to see some snow! She continues to make great progress in her language learning and is trying gymnastics and ballet classes for the next few months. We are so thankful that she has made friends here and loves to spend time with them. Now if I can just get her to love school, we’ll be set! Wish me luck!

This year we are looking forward to spending more time in the Chota Valley now that we have made some good connections there. We have often felt like spiritual farmers, slowly working to prepare the soil, plowing the earth, getting it ready to plant seeds. It often feels slow and tedious and the Lord has had to remind us that the preparation season is an important part of the harvest. We can become anxious to see fruit quickly but preparing the ground to receive the seeds and help those seeds grow healthy roots is an important part of the process. Please continue to pray for us and we till the ground and prepare it for the harvest the Lord has in mind.

We pray the Lord continues to bless you and everything you put your hands to in this new year!
